Festive Green for St. Patty’s

Even if you don’t get into the spirit of St. Patrick’s Day, a little green never hurts! After all, it is the color of nature, rare jewels and even envy.

We love this green inspiration board because it shows that green can be lovely in so many ways. The bridesmaid dress is fabulous not only for a spring or summer wedding, but for any sunny outdoor event. Too, the green hydrangeas stuffed between layers of cake look effortless, and a green bow, whether wrapped around a wedding favor or an invitation, is simple delightful.

Happy St. Patty’s Day!

XOXO,
Raya & Erin

We Love Calligraphy by Jennifer

It’s rare when a Facebook page experiences fan overload. But Calligraphy by Jennifer, serving customers nationwide (and with its 2,700 loyal fans and counting), has earned it. They roll out content and photos of gorgeous work on a daily basis; fans and us at Weddingish alike cannot get enough of this increasingly popular company and its calligraphic creations.

We were fortunate to have the opportunity to chat with the sweet (and busy) Jennifer about herself and her burgeoning business.

“Weddings are such a huge passion of mine,” stated Jennifer, the delightful owner. She has been in business for five years, and counting – and she couldn’t be happier. “My heart, soul, and primary focus is calligraphy. I love that I wake up each day excited to work. The joy my job brings me is incredible.”

Inspiration for her work extends beyond simply surveying her clients’ wedding theme and style. “I am inspired by wedding magazines. I have stacks galore that I save.” A lot of what makes Jennifer tick is evident in her creations. “I love things with lots of color.”

And of course, many brides these days are on a budget. “I think it is very important to accommodate to all ends of the spectrum.” And calligraphy can extend past invitations; place cards, food and drink signs, and more can have an artistic touch. Calligraphy by Jennifer has even introduced custom stamps. It’s “a fabulous way to add a touch of calligraphy for a bride on a budget.” Plus, each makes for a fabulous keepsake.

Jennifer is thrilled by her business. “I have the most amazing brides and clients and love working with so many fabulous wedding professionals.” We think there’s a lot in store for Calligraphy by Jennifer; we’re so happy to have gotten to learn a bit more about the dazzling owner.

Love,                                                                                             Raya

Personal Touch: Wedding Stamps

Brides are loving personal touches on everything for their big day.  From the wedding cake to the photography to the perfect playlist, brides want elements of their personality integrated into each and every detail of their big day.  In fact, we spend so much time finding the perfect stationery, from save-the-dates to invitations to thank you notes, that an oft-overlooked item is one of the first wedding-related details to be seen by the guests: the postage.

Because it’s all in the details, it’s important to find the small elements that needn’t go unnoticed.  Placing a wedding-themed stamp on your invitation adds just a little something special to an otherwise mundane detail.

In case you haven’t seen, there is a plethora of wedding-themed stamps from which to choose.  You have your pick of postage that relays something special about your wedding. Whether it’s a photo of your bouquet flowers, or an image resembling your ring, you can literally put a unique stamp on your day.

Zazzle.com offers an array of wedding-themed stamps, and USPS.com unveiled wedding stamps last year.  At zazzle.com, customers have their pick of Small, Medium, or Large.  Though the stamps cost more than their face value (a sheet of 20 small stamps, for example, costs $20.60), it’s a small price to pay for a unique wedding detail.

And for an easy way to tie everything together, aside from sending matching stationery, purchase the same stamp in bulk.  Use the same style stamp for your save-the-dates, thank you cards, and any other item included in your stationery repertoire.  It’s a simple way to ensure your theme remains constant.  But if you prefer variety, stamps with “RSVP” or “You’re Invited” are also available.

Which stamp will look perfect on your wedding invitation?
