Delightful Fact: The Tiered Cake
What is the origin of the tiered wedding cake?
Back in the mid-1800s guests would bring small cakes to a wedding; said cakes would be stacked on top of each other. Later a French baker created a cake in the shape of the small cakes and smothered it in icing. This is now known as the tiered cake, and to this day remains the traditional treat for a wedding. Hot! Hot! Hot!
Chartreuse, hot pink, neon green… these aren’t usual colors associated with weddings. But more often than ever brights have been popping up on shoes, in bouquets and on cakes. What’s a better compliment than bright shoes under layers of tulle or a bouquet of fuchsia peonies against white.
We like to spice things up, and a pop of bright color is a surefire way to do just that.
Hugs, Raya
