Your “Something Blue” Solution: Shoes
For quite some time, brides have been faithful to the “something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue” saying. Since the Victorian era, brides have followed this advice in hopes of good luck. Even if you are a bride that doesn’t believe in good fortune, it’s a wonderful way to ensure that you incorporate a variety of pieces that can bring special meaning to your big day.
Often, the hardest piece of the saying puzzle is finding that “something blue.” Since most bridal ensembles entail white, ivory, or even pink or pastel colors, bolder colors like blue and black often get overlooked.
However, the “something blue” part is easy. A simple way to add blue to your bridal repertoire is by incorporating blue shoes, whether in a shade of ice or a bolder navy, or in a sandal or pump. Not only will you be a quarter of your way to good luck with some gorgeous blue heels, but it’s a fun way to add a splash of color to an otherwise typical bridal color palette. Even better news: blue heels are available in a range of prices sure to fit any bride’s budget.

Somewhere Over the Rainbow…
Weddings these days are seemingly centered on bicolor themes, or a two-colors-with-an-accent color palette.
It’s time to shake things up a bit. What about the bright colors we were crazy about as kids? Even now, think of the joy that seeing a rainbow brings, or seeing colorful balloons at the carnival. This same joy can bleed into your wedding color scheme (and theme).
The places to inject color are endless. For those going for all-out color shock, this is the time to have some fun. White bridal gowns with a hint of rainbow, along with appropriate accessories, are just the start. Chair covers in varying primary and secondary colors can add a splash of color to a reception hall. Colorful flowers, whether just in the bridal bouquet, all bouquets, or in the floral décor throughout the ceremony and reception venues, are sure to lift your guests’ spirits. Serve colorful cupcakes, or add a splash of color to aspects of your centerpieces, like candles and glass vases.
To avoid color overload, however, concentrate on the smaller details or a few larger items. A little color can go a long way.

Pretty Parasols
by Erin
We’ve been seeing lovely parasols pop up, quite literally, more and more lately. Whether you’re on the search for a paper version or one with a more traditional intricate satin and lace design, any bride is sure to find a parasol to suit her bridal style and personality.
A parasol is an excellent prop for engagement and wedding photo sessions. Ask your photographer to make suggestions on how to integrate one into your photos. Whether held by the bride, by each of her bridesmaids, or by the couple, a parasol is a lovely way to add a soft touch to any setting.
Plus, parasols pull double-duty. They’re functional and are especially appropriate in the summertime, as they shield from the sun’s heat and rays.

Summer Weddings for Baseball Fans
By Chris Easter of TheManRegistry.com
Who doesn’t love summer time? Great weather, great weddings and baseball! If the groom and groomsmen are into baseball, there are a few great ideas that can be incorporated into the wedding festivities.
Bachelor Party
Baseball games are popular bachelor party venues. If you have enough people going, group tickets can be purchased for most professional and minor league teams. If there’s a little extra money in the party budget, a suite or party room is always nice. These rooms usually involved unlimited food and, of course, beer. But, hey who needs beer at a bachelor party?
Groom’s Cake
It goes without saying that favorite sports team logos are a common choice for groom’s cake designs. If you’re not doing a groom’s cake, baseball cupcakes are a great dessert idea for the rehearsal dinner.
Groomsmen Gifts
One of our top selling groomsmen gifts over at TheManRegistry.com is the Personalized Rawlings Baseball Bat. This bat can be engraved with a groomsman name, date, and personal phrase.
