Guest bride blogger Erin Schneckloth

When Weddingish approached me about being a guest blogger, I couldn’t resist the idea of sharing my thoughts and insights with potential brides.  But I couldn’t help but think: What do I have to share?

Plenty, I’ve discovered.

Since I began the wedding planning nearly six months ago, I’ve learned more than I ever thought I would know about weddings.  And I have discovered I have a sincere love of weddings, as well.  All that I’ve been through so far as a bride-to-be, like the research, flipping through countless bridal magazines, and setting up appointments with the endless list of vendors, have all added to my experience.  It’s an exhausting process.  A note for fellow brides to keep in mind: you are planning the most fabulous party of your life!

My fiancé and I have a very intimate affair set for this coming June in Colorado, over 1,000 miles away from our place in Los Angeles.  The first hurdle to planning this semi-destination wedding was planning our event based on only one trip through Colorado to meet with all our vendors, and that was in October – nine months before our wedding.  Having a small budget with which to work has presented its challenges, too.  Come to think of it, there have been several hurdles to overcome!

I am so excited to share my story, insights, inspiration and knowledge with the readers of the Weddingish blog.  I will revisit the planning and work I have done thus far, the work that has yet to be finished, and all the decisions and choices along the way.  Feel free to ask any questions, as well – I would love to hear from you!

Until next time…
