Could Beige be the New Ivory?
_____________________________________________________
In the Spring 2012 bridal collections we once again see color, beige in particular.
Last weekend we saw a slew of beige-based gowns float down the runway at Romona Keveza, Monique Lhuillier and Watters and Watters, among others.
Could beige become the new ivory? Beige offers brides the choice of an intriguingly soft, romantic and atypical hue while not being too bold. Trends come and go, but for a certain set of brides the movement from traditional colors continues.
XOXO, Erin & Raya

Golden Globes 2011
It’s officially Awards season and that means once again stalking the Red Carpet for fashion inspiration.
Last night at the 68th Annual Golden Globe Awards we saw fruit-hued gowns and on the other end of the spectrum a pleasing array of green gowns. Of course, we saw the old stand-by represented quite well: black.
Who was your fashion darling last night?
XOXO,

Berries and Cream
The ladies did not fail to impress last night, as we saw a wonderful array of feminine, fun colors. Golden Globe winner Natalie Portman wore a romantic Viktor and Rolf strapless gown while January Jones turned up the heat in a daring Versace cut-out gown.

Green with Envy
If pink wasn’t this year’s “it” color then green was. We saw an ombre of green colors from a sparkling emerald green on Angelina Jolie reminiscnet of the emerald drop earrings she wore to the Oscars last year, to a deep hunter green worn by Elisabeth Moss. Yes, we’re green with envy at how wonderfully these ladies pulled off a non-traditional Red Carpet color.

Black to Basics
Black is a fashion gown staple. How does it always look so wonderful?

Somewhere Over the Rainbow…
Weddings these days are seemingly centered on bicolor themes, or a two-colors-with-an-accent color palette.
It’s time to shake things up a bit. What about the bright colors we were crazy about as kids? Even now, think of the joy that seeing a rainbow brings, or seeing colorful balloons at the carnival. This same joy can bleed into your wedding color scheme (and theme).
The places to inject color are endless. For those going for all-out color shock, this is the time to have some fun. White bridal gowns with a hint of rainbow, along with appropriate accessories, are just the start. Chair covers in varying primary and secondary colors can add a splash of color to a reception hall. Colorful flowers, whether just in the bridal bouquet, all bouquets, or in the floral décor throughout the ceremony and reception venues, are sure to lift your guests’ spirits. Serve colorful cupcakes, or add a splash of color to aspects of your centerpieces, like candles and glass vases.
To avoid color overload, however, concentrate on the smaller details or a few larger items. A little color can go a long way.
